Its Monday...

This past weekend was both wonderful & bad all at the same time. The wonderful part was that Abby came into town on Saturday! We made homemade pizza & enjoyed a few minutes before Jeff came to get us. (The picture on the left are the flowers Jeff brought me for an early bday surprise--they are absolutely my favorite flower & red is my favorite color--what a beautiful surprise). Jeff took us to our first Buccaneers hockey game & it was AMAZINGLY fun. The crowd was so exciting & the music they played was FUN! I even found myself cheering 'Let them fight' with the crowd when players got in a brawl---I will admit, it was exciting to seem them duke it out! After the game, we went to Legends for appetizers & coffee--it was a great night. Thanks, Jeff!!!
The bad part came in the middle of the night on Saturday night when I experienced my first severe hypoglycemia attack (a possible complication from my stomach surgery.) It was quite scary to say the least & I couldn't even think or talk sensibly or walk straight--all I knew was that I needed to get to my Grandparents bedroom--which was a challenge--thank goodness that my Papa (who is diabetic) knew immediately what was going on & got me help. It was a very scary experience--one that I hope I don't have to repeat--but at least I would maybe be able to recognize what was going on before it got so severe. I think it comes with the territory & my electrolytes being so out of balance--like I said, never a dull moment in my life! (SMILE)

Abby, Tutu, & I went to Church on Sunday & when we got home my Aunt & Uncle were here from Iowa City with the two boys. They just stopped for a bit before they went downtown to the Botanical Center. We spent about an hour with them & then Abby & I both slept for the rest of the afternoon! We went to supper with my Auntie Linda & her best friend, Marie (aka My Auntie M) & then came home & relaxed. Abby left this morning (much to my dismay) & I worked for a bit. But, now I'm back home--still really not feeling well!

Tomorrow I start my Genetics class & I am quite excited. My other class is going very well & I love it so much I even look forward to going. Yes, I am a science nerd!!! Well...that sums up the weekend. Hope everyone is doing well! We're at a balmy 30 today--which is a heatwave compared to last week!
