There is a bit of insanity in dancing

that does everybody a great deal of good.

~Edwin Denby

This weekend ranks in the top five best weekends of my life. I spent the weekend in Collegeville, Minnesota with Lauren at St. John's University I left Friday morning--the weather was perfect for a road trip. Glimpses of sunshine followed me until I hit the Minnesota border--where I am told the sun does not like to appear too much in the winter! (Smile) I love being alone in the car and having time to ponder and just be. Sometimes I have my music blaring and I'm dancing like a goon, other times the music is low or off and I'm taking some silence time to think about life and its happenings. When I arrived at Lauren's I was introduced to a group of people I've heard so much about and talked to via Facebook on internet. They were as welcoming as I had expected--I instantly felt like part of the group. We went out and walked across the Lake to an old empty chapel--it was wonderful and certainly cold. :) Friday night a group of us went out to supper, bowling, and then met others at a bar for some drinks in honor of Lauren's birthday (which is Monday). Saturday we helped Joe (one of Lauren's friends) move, we watched a movie and took a nap, and then later that evening went to someone's house for a get together---it was a fabulous night--one of the best I've had in quite some time. We literally danced into the until 2:30 in the morning (I am sure it made Julia very happy to see us all dancing and loving it)--I have not danced like that since my high school prom and I couldn't have loved every second of it anymore than I did. Today, we got up and went to Mass after a VERY short night's sleep, ate brunch, and I headed on my way to Des Moines for another great road trip journey.

It's been awhile since Lauren and I have been able to have so much time together and it was wonderful--I miss the ol' days, but I could not be happier that she is where she is--it was an amazing place. Hospitality was abundant by all at St. John's. By the time I left after 2 days, I felt like I had known some of these people for ages---it was wonderful. The conversations shared this weekend were priceless---no value can be placed on conversations of the heart between two best friends. I don't know what I'd do without them. The laughter shared was countless---I cannot even begin to count how many times laughter doubled me over---laughter is so necessary for hearts; for them to mend, for them to move on, and for them to exist.

This weekend was one that I hope I never forget and I hope it was as enjoyable for everyone involved as it was for me.

A ENORMOUS 'THANK YOU' to everyone at St. John's this weekend---it was a heart warmingly adventurously fantastic 2 days. I am home tonight, with a very happy heart and a smile on my face thinking about the weekend that was had and those I shared it with. Friends really do make the world go 'round.

And what a gift it was to have you here! I'm so glad you were able to experience the St. John's hospitality for yourself. I've told you this already, but it meant a lot that you came to see me. Peter sends his love. He's on his way to New Zealand now. I miss him already.
