This weekend has been an amazing weekend. Friday night was pretty relaxed. Amber and I headed to St. Joe for supper and a just getting away. Saturday I went on a retreat that was exactly what I needed. It was like getting hit over the head with a spiritual stick---but I was do for a beating! (smile) Saturday night, Christina was here visting, so Amber, Christina and I went to KC to a movie and a bit of shopping. It was a much needed girls night away and off of campus. We saw the movie Land of Women. It is hard to say what I feel about the movie. I enjoyed it, yet there was not a huge plot, it was a very random movie. Nonetheless, it made you think about life and what's important--so in that aspect it was very good. I would recommend it as a rental.
Today, I went to Mass and visited with some of the Sisters for brunch and this evening I had an SGA banquet, then I got an unexpected phone call from a good friend, just to talk---it was wonderful. This whole weekend has been a lot of little things that added up to a great weekend. I am grateful for all of the gifts I have been given this weekend.
I realized on Saturday that God doesn't 'shout' to us necessarily. He waits for us to be quiet and whispers his words--he wants to make sure we're really listening and He doesn't have to compete with outside noise. I also realized, as hard as graduation and the goodbyes will be, it is necessary. It is necessary to move onto another step and take the memories of the past 4 years with me. No, it won't be easy, but yes, it will be rewarding soon after. I'm also assured that my friends will still be with me through it all. Yes, we may not have the daily contact and eat every meal together, but as I have been shown by Catharine and Lauren, we will still be there when it counts most. I rest assured that after the tears of the "goodbyes", the smiles of "hellos" will be right around the corner and we all know how I love "hellos." I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that your hearts are listening to the whispers. My last full week of college begins tomorrow----here we go!!
