It has certainly been awhile since my last post. I am all settled into my new apartment and loving it. The knee is hanging in there. I have to do physical therapy for a few weeks to see if it promotes healing. They did determine I had a tear in my medial meniscus. Hopefully, it'll heal on its own, if not, I will be having surgery! However, good news, the bronchitis is long gone and the family is feeling well.
My Dad had surgery on Monday in Iowa City. He had his second ocular decompression, which is a surgery to help lessen the effects of his Grave's Disease, which is a type of hyperthyroidism. He is doing well. He is home and hanging in there. It was a rather evasive procedure, but tonight he tells me he feels pretty good, so I'm so proud of him. They did tell us he will have to have more surgery, but they must get him healed from this one first. Poor guy. Lately he has had a series of medical issues. He will be having a hernia surgery, more surgery on his eyes, and they found out last week he is very diabetic...so he has a lot going on. It is certainly new territory for him as his first hospital stay ever (besides being born) was last summer! Please keep him in your prayers.
Life has been busy. I was in Wichita for Christina's Bachelorette party two weekends ago--which was fun. Last weekend I was in Atchison for BC's Homecoming. It was a good weekend. It was so wonderful to see so many friends I haven't been able to see until this summer. We enjoyed a weekend of fun and it was much needed for all of us in the "real world shock."
This weekend proves to be one full of studying as I have another Biochemistry test approaching. Exciting news, the twins' personalities are really beginning to show and that makes them even more fun. Their smiles, giggles, and coos just make your heart grin!
I hope all is going well with everyone. I will have more time to post and more exciting things to share later. For now, I must jet, I am meeting a friend for dessert and coffee!
